Of the range of operations that can be carried out in the area of intimate feminine surgery, the only one I perform is reduction of the labia minora (nymphoplasty). This operation is generally performed under local anaesthetic and analgo-sedation ("twilight sleep") as an outpatient procedure. Excess skin is removed with minimal bleeding using a radiofrequency needle. The incision wound is sutured with a fine dissolving thread. With an ointment bandage and a topical anaesthetic cream, the wound will heal painlessly within two weeks. Patients do not generally have any pain after the operation.
